Here is the video for Batam! Watch it right to the end, where Azmi gives Faiz a “THIS IS BATAM” Spartan-styled kick into the pit monster.

Also starring the 501st Legion Singapore Garrison in that cool firefight against the rebels!

Along with the 501st Legion, and a few members of Movie Mania, SEJA travelled to Batam, Indonesia, to perform at a Star Wars themed party one weekend in July.  Team SEJA comprised of Faiz and Azmi as the performers, and Sue and Mike as minders, photographers, videographers, all rolled into two.

All I can say is that it was very wet (thanks to the thunderstorm), and very muddy (also thanks to the storm). The lack of a wet weather programme meant that everyone, including guests, had to wait for it to stop. It’s just a good thing the rain didn’t carry on in torrents the whole night through.

P.S. Is it just me, or does it seem to rain on every performance of ours? *coughStPatrickscough*

SEJA attended the preview screening of Fanboys the movie at Vivocity’s GV Europa on the 18th of March, 2009.

Organized by the fine folks from www.starwars.sg, it was a very informal and cozy outing: An opportunity for the fanboys and girls (both old and new) to discuss the movie and interact with other members from the Star Wars community.

There were many laughs during the dialogue session, with Leonard, the host, leading the audience in quizzes and introducing us all to Singapore’s very own life-sized R2-D2 project, which will hopefully be completed by August, in time for the Singapore Toy And Comic Convention.

With our history steeped in Star Wars fandom, SEJA greatly enjoyed the screening, and even gave an impromptu performance after the show!

Also on-site were the troopers from the 501st Legion’s Singapore Garrison, and they certainly impressed with their screen-accurate armors. There was even a photo op with them after the dialogue session.
